24 Hours of Images of Susquehanna County
Description: A community digital photography event where local photographers
submit photos taken on one day in Susquehanna County. Photo’s are submitted
to EL Rose in categories to be posted on the Conservancy web site, including
placement on a map, and selected for recognition.

We are looking for photographs, that when brought together, will tell the
story of a day in the life of Susquehanna County, the striking beauty of its
natural landscapes, native wildlife, pressures of change, and the people.

- Submitting photo(s) – one per email – between July 11 and
July 18
- Must be an Original Photograph, JPEG format, up to 6 MB file
size, taken
on July 11, 2009
- Geotag information with each photo
- include latitude and longitude
of location picture was taken
- Use Google Map or Google Earth to get the Geotag information
- Distribution rights to the Conservancy
- Include registration ID with each photo submitted by
email
- Awards for best photographs by category and age group
- All Photos will be posted on this website
- A Community Gathering and Display event to be held in August

Rules
- All photographers must sign-up with the E.L. Rose Conservancy via
email (elrosephotos@gmail.com) (no cost)
- All photographs must be original images taken in Susquehanna
County, PA.; in jpeg format, up to 6 MB is file size.
- All photographs are to originate during one 24 hour period covering
July 11, 2009
- All photographs must be submitted by email between July 11, 2009
and midnight July 18, 2009 to elrosephotos@gmail.com.
- Up to five photographs may be submitted per category by each photographer;
no cost for submitting photographs; one per email.
- All photographs submitted are provided with full rights to E.L.
Rose Conservancy to display on their web site, other electronic sites,
and their newsletter and other methods of notice.
- All photographs are to be submitted with GEOTAG information on the
location where they were captured. (Latitude/Longitude)
- Photographs will be posted on the ELRose Conservancy web-site
- Photograph displayed on the web-site
- Locations will be posted
on a map of the county
- Awards and photograph showing in August .
- Non-cash Awards for the top entries in each category

You will receive a return email that will have your Registration ID to
use when submitting your photographs as attachments to emails.

Step 2 - On July 11, 2009, take
digital photographs anywhere in Susquehanna County
- 24 Hours, one day, to get photographs from our county
- Categories:
- Landscapes
- Wildlife
- Environmental Change
- People in Nature
- Keep notes on the location(s) of where you take the photographs. You
can use a GPS device or look on a map later to get the Latitude and Longitude
of the photograph locations.
- We are looking for striking images of nature that tell a story of what
is happening in our county.
- All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the
scene as it appeared.
- Photographs should not be digitally altered with artistic filters or
post-processing effects such as combining two or more photos, watercolor,
neon glow, and other that do not show the scene in its natural way.
- The Deadline for submitting photographs is Saturday July 18, 2009
- The photographs will be evaluated on originality, technical excellence,
composition, overall impact and artistic merit.

Step 3– Submitting Photographs to the Contest
- Submit your best photographs by attaching them, one attachment per
email, and send it to elrosephotos@gmail.com
- Submit the photographs between July 11 & July 18
- Deadline – Midnight July 18, 2009

Digital photograph files are to be in JPEG format with a maximum file
size of 6 MB. *
- * Web display does not require a large file size.
- You will need to include GEOTAG (Latitude and Longitude) information
on the location of the photograph; see How to GEOTAG
- The Conservancy staff will select photographs for posting on the
event galleries on the internet. During the selection process,
only the photographer registration ID will be used to label the originator
of each photograph.
- Award winners will be notified in August and will be posted on the
www.elrose.org web site.

Step 4 -Display of the Photographs
- Web Galleries will be posted for public viewing
- Pictures will be displayed in these four galleries:

Photograph GEOTAG locations in the county will be posted on a map
- Photographs will be displayed as thumbnails and can be selected
for full size viewing.
- The public can post positive comments on any photograph that
they like.
- Awards Presentation and Photographic Display
- Presentation on Saturday August 8, 2009 the
Montrose Community Foundation
- Open from 12 noon for
photographer participants, Conservancy members, and the public
for viewing.
- Selected photographs will be projected for display
- An awards presentation will be held at 3:00
PM.
